The Gitane D-500 features a top of select solid spruce with rosewood back and sides and a thin, comfortable, bound mahogany neck with a 24-fret extension fingerboard of ebony with pearl-dot position markers.<\/p>\n<p>The large D-shaped soundhole has concentric rings of multicolored wood purfling. The body is bound with solid ebony for durability and beauty with maple\/walnut\/maple purfling on all edges. The traditional Moustache bridge, also ebony, has a removable center section that is slotted for perfect intonation.
